The Weston Hotel in Scarborough, Yorkshire, has been sold to a new owner for an undisclosed amount. The sale comes as its previous owners, John Simms and Pat Hendry, who have run the hotel for around 12 years, are selling the property to retire.

Singaporean-based hospitality investor, the Fragrance Group, has acquired the Grand Atlantic Hotel in Weston-super-Mare from Coast and Country Hotels for an undisclosed sum. The signing marks the eleventh Fragrance-owned hotel to be under RBH’s management, strengthening the two groups’ partnership.

Britannia Hotels-owned Pontins has announced the closure of its third holiday park in two months. Pontins Southport Holiday Park shut permanently on 3 January and prior to this, its parks in Prestatyn and Camber Sands shut on 30 November Pontins, which was founded in 1946, was bought out of administration by Britannia Hotels in 2011.
