Secolo owners close Balmain outpost and announce new venues

Owners of Secolo Balmain Anthony, Tanja, and Robert Arienzale have announced the Italian eatery will close its doors after a six-month pop-up at The Exchange Hotel. The news of the closure was also joined by the announcement of two new venues in the Sydney CBD: Tessuto and La Panineria. Secolo Head Chef Mattia Senesi is curating the menu at both venues, and once up-and-running will lead the kitchen team at La Panineria.

AHLA: U.S. Hotels Added 1,200 Jobs in April

WASHINGTON—U.S. hotels added 1,200 jobs to their payrolls in April, according to the latest government data that shows employment in the industry is still far from pre-pandemic levels, reported the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Total hotel employment stands at about 1.92 million, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s 193,600 fewer workers in the industry than in February 2020, just before the pandemic hit.
