How Budderfly, Lennox's energy efficiency can save operators money

Many brands overlook how much energy they're using in their restaurants. Today's HVAC and other units are more energy-efficient than ever, and operators can add them to their restaurants.

That was the takeaway from a free webinar "Learn how a sustainable, Energy-Efficiency-as-a-Service partner can boost your bottom line" hosted by QSRweb.com and sponsored by Budderfly.

Teaching viewers how locations can have guaranteed energy savings using Budderfly's energy efficiency program was Bill Lynch, regional VP of sales at Budderfly and Eddie Chavez, director of product management for Lennox International.

Today's operators don't have the time to research energy efficiency on top of the challenges already facing them, like increased food and energy costs, disrupted supply chains and labor challenges.

Budderfly has installed energy efficient equipment like HVAC units, lighting and refrigeration at more than 3,000 locations, including businesses with repeatable footprints like Subway, KFC, Dunkin' McDonald's Outback Steakhouse and Wendy's.

"We have a unique model that helps our customers reduce energy consumption and convert that reduction into an economic benefit," Lynch said. "We monetize the elimination of inefficient and wasteful energy, and we provide savings, we preserve our customers' capital and we help you improve operations."

Rooftop HVAC units demand a high cost of replacement and priority. If restaurants haven't converted to LED, they're using capital annually for maintenance and replacement. Finally, most restaurants can't afford to have walk-ins go down and lose inventory.

Budderfly has partnered with Lennox, a producer of energy-efficient equipment, to install the Model L HVAC unit. Lennox has a dedicated service team with more than 500 NATE-certified technicians and more than 100 branches across North America. As a result, they're able to have turnkey planned replacement, equipment and installation. Finally, Lennox offers a comprehensive maintenance plan through Budderfly with optimum equipment performance and four-hour replies on emergency service calls.
