Facing customer usability challenges with its existing white-label app and loyalty program, Smoothie King tapped the digital agency, Bounteous, to create a customer experience platform with next-generation web ordering and mobile apps, including a calorie counter, a unified wallet and an enhanced rewards strategy.

"Our new mobile app is all about creating the most seamless experience possible for our guests and delivering a look and feel that best showcases our delicious smoothies and smoothie bowls," Marianne Radley, CMO of Smoothie King, said in a company press release. "As digital becomes an even bigger part of our business, streamlining the guest journey, simplifying the ordering process, and showing what's actually in the cup — are all critical updates that we think our guests are going to love."

The journey
Bounteous leveraged its NomNom accelerator to bring together Smoothie King's rebuilt Olo platform menu with Braze and Punchh integrations, creating one seamless user experience. It's the first third-party app to leverage PAR Pay and PAR Punchh's innovative Single Scan Flow feature, enabling users to earn points, redeem rewards and make payments or tips using stored value on saved cards with a single scan, said Savneet Singh, PAR Technology CEO.

"Our collaboration with Smoothie King and Bounteous marks a significant leap in redefining the digital guest experience and pioneering a new era of payments and loyalty," he said in the release. "This forward-looking approach reflects our dedication to seamless, intuitive solutions, empowering brands to meaningfully connect with customers. Ultimately, our collaboration is about driving growth, success, and shaping the future of digital interactions in payments and loyalty."

Joseph Yetter, GM of PAR/Punchh, said the app was going to be a significant leap forward in streamlining the customer experience.

"This is going to redefine 'effortless' for Smoothie King guests," he said in the release. "We love partnering with brands like Smoothie King and are dedicated to offering cutting-edge solutions that foster lasting connections between brands and their customers."

Smoothie King has over 1,400 locations.
