Stonebridge names C.J. Chapman general counsel

Stonebridge Cos., a Denver-based, privately owned hotel owner, operator and developer, has named C.J. Chapman as its general counsel.

In his new role, he will not only provide in-house legal advice for the company but also oversee the firm’s risk management group.

Chapman brings nearly two decades of experience as a general counsel and shareholder to Stonebridge. Most recently, he served as general counsel to Elevation Capital, a venture fund based in Vancouver. He previously served as EVP/general counsel/corporate secretary to BellRock Brands Inc., a publicly traded company on the Canadian Securities Exchange, which he took public in November 2018.

Prior to that role, he was a shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck LLP, where he practiced in its real estate and corporate departments. His practice focused on the acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing and development of a host of commercial real estate assets, including hotels, multi-family and office buildings, sports complexes, shopping centers and vacant land, as well as advising private companies on corporate matters, including partnership agreements, formation of entities and general corporate governance.
