Saudi Arabia: NEOM Hotel Development has selected General Hotel Management (GHM) to manage The Chedi Trojena.

GHM has become the second hotel partner for Trojena – a mountain destination currently under development that will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.

Located within the Slope Residences of the project, The Chedi Trojena will be a part of a residential village in one of Trojena’s six clusters: Gateway, Discover, Valley, Explore, Relax and Fun. The Slope Residences will offer food, sports, health, and meditative activities, overlooking the Lake of Trojena.

Tommy Lai, GHM’s chief executive officer said: “We are honoured to be the second hotel partner selected by NEOM Hotel Development to realise its vision of hospitality excellence of the future. GHM’s remit is to create an exceptional luxury sanctuary that will chart the course for this shared new future.”

The construction of Trojena commenced in December 2022 and is expected to be completed by 2026. It aims to become a hub for tourism and recreation in the Gulf countries. The mountain destination will also feature 30 kilometres of ski slopes for visitors of all ages and is set to include luxury wellness hotels and resorts.

Philip Gullett, executive director and region head at Trojena, said: “Trojena redefines the understanding of ultra-luxury hospitality and mountain tourism. With GHM’s international acclaim in operating iconic resorts globally, we share the same resolve to elevate the travel experience for discerning guests. The Chedi Trojena will serve as a luxurious sanctuary in the Gulf’s first outdoor ski resort, where world-class sporting events, art exhibitions, concerts, and cultural festivals will be staged.”
