Hotel Marketing Association names chair

Harry Fielder

UK: Harry Fielder, managing director at Umi, has been appointed chair of the Hotel Marketing Association (HMA) for the next two years.

As chair, Fielder will support the organisation’s growth and work alongside an executive committee to provide training and development opportunities for the sector. He will succeed former chair, Petra Clayton, CEO at CUSTARD.

Each year, the HMA hosts a series of networking events for its members to engage with industry experts and gain access to resources and programmes for professional development. The annual HMA Hotel Marketing awards also recognises and celebrates individuals and hotels.

Commenting on his appointment, Fielder said: “I have been very fortunate to have built relationships with and learned from some of the best marketing brains in the industry. I am excited to give back wherever I can by continuing to foster an innovative, open-minded, and engaged community of hotel marketers.”

Clayton added: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to steer the HMA during what has been a very difficult period for the entire industry. I am excited to hand the baton to Harry who I know will drive HMA forward with his digital expertise and industry understanding. It’s now time for us to further engage with a sector that must come together, professionalise, and grow again.”
