Focus Hotels Management Limited has expanded its portfolio by acquiring the management of Hotel Indigo Exeter. This 104-bedroom hotel, situated in the heart of Exeter, embodies a blend of modern sophistication and local charm, drawing inspiration from the city’s history. The property features a rooftop bar, urban spa, contemporary British restaurant, and an underground sports bar. Focus Hotels Management, known for its diverse hotel management expertise, aims to enhance the guest experience and build upon the hotel’s unique offerings. Devin Grosse, CEO of Focus Hotels, expressed pride in the partnership, emphasising the hotel’s immersive design and the company’s commitment to excellence.
The former Royal Hotel in Bridge of Allan, Scotland, is on the market, inviting offers. The 34-room, listed period building, originally constructed in the Victorian era, is strategically located near Stirling city centre. The property, currently closed and vacant, has residential planning in place that is due to lapse. Christie and Co, managing the sale, highlight the opportunity for the property to be refurbished into a boutique hotel, potentially reinstating its status as a thriving establishment in an affluent community. Despite a previous application for residential use lapsing, there is optimism that with the right investment, the local community and potential investors could support its redevelopment for a suitable purpose.
The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne has appointed Alex Burtenshaw as the head chef for its Mirabelle restaurant. Formerly with Port Hotel in Eastbourne, Burtenshaw brings 14 years of culinary experience, having held head and sous chef positions at award-winning hotel restaurants along the south coast. Mirabelle Restaurant, one of two at The Grand Hotel, offers a modern European menu featuring seasonal specialties with a focus on local Sussex and Kent produce. Burtenshaw’s arrival is marked by the launch of a new lunchtime menu, showcasing his signature style of classic British cuisine with a modern European twist. Excited about joining the historic hotel, Burtenshaw emphasises championing local suppliers and showcasing the region’s finest ingredients.
