UK: Marking the ninth hotel in the city of London for Hyatt, the 204-room Regency London Blackfriars has opened.

Housed in a Grade II-listed building on the former grounds of King Henry VIII’s Bridewell Palace, Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars has been designed by THDP. It features 204 rooms and suites, three food and beverage venues, a fitness centre and three meeting and event spaces.

The Chinese Cricket Club restaurant takes its inspiration from the Shanghai XI cricket team, whose captain Feng travelled to England with his bride Xiu in 1857. Xiu later opened the first Chinese restaurant in London.

Bistro NYnLON offers an all-day menu whereas The Leaf and Cane is a 1920s bar serving street food and cocktails.

Two of the event spaces are suitable for small group gatherings whereas the main function room can seat up to 150 people. Collectively, the three rooms cover 4,628 square feet.

“We are delighted to welcome guests to Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars situated alongside our neighbouring landmarks, businesses and cultural attractions,” said Laurent Schauder, general manager. “With our welcoming service, inventive food and beverage offerings and ideal location, [the hotel] is soon to become [the place] of choice for anyone looking for a memorable experience in the heart of the city.”
