Worldwide: Independent lifestyle hotel brand The Standard has revealed 14 global openings which would almost triple the group’s portfolio size over the next five years.

The Standard is due to launch a property in Melbourne this year, followed by a hotel in Singapore in early 2024.

Additional locations include Lisbon, Austin, Mexico, Brooklyn, Vancouver, Dublin, Vienna, Brussels, Khao Yai, Nashville and Pattaya.

Aside from hotels, The Standard has recently launched its first stand-alone branded residences in Midtown Miami. The group will soon open its first residential project in Asia with the addition of branded residences to its hotel in Hua Hin.

Amber Asher, CEO of Standard International, said: “We are in a unique position as one of the last independent lifestyle brands. Most of our competitors have been acquired, or have merged into large hotel companies, and we find that many developers and capital partners around the world prefer working with us, as a company that remains entrepreneurial, creative, nimble, and culturally connected. Our owner and developer partners are incredibly proud of the projects we are developing with them which leads to more projects in our global pipeline.”

Standard International is the parent company of The Standard as well as sister brands Bunkhouse and The Peri Hotel.

Bunkhouse has recently opened two hotels in Louisville and San Fernando and is preparing to launch another in Houston, late 2024. There are currently projects under development in Chattanooga and Fort Worth.

The Peri Hotel is the latest brand from Standard International. The boutique hotel collection has two properties in Thailand with two more to join in Bangkok.
