KSL Capital Partners appoints Morgan Stanley to sell Village Hotels

KSL Capital Partners has appointed bankers Morgan Stanley as it attempts to offload Village Hotels from its portfolio, Sky News has reported.

The Colorado-based private equity investor reportedly bought the business for £485m from De Vere Group in 2014.

Sky News said that KSL is planning to organise an auction for the sale and initial discussions with prospective buyers are said to have got under way in recent weeks.

Village Hotels was founded in 1995 as Village Urban Resorts and its portfolio comprises 33 properties from Arbedeen to Bournemouth.

The hotels also feature pub-style restaurants and gyms.

The report also mentioned that owners of Centre Parcs UK and Travelodge are also considering sales during this time; the former has been conducting an auction in conjunction with consultants for some months.

Sky stated that a pool of potential financial buyers is anticipated to show interest in Village Hotels, however a sale is not certain.
