The Lion Hotel for sale at reduced price of £1.8 million

Lion Hotel sale

The Lion Hotel

UK: The four-star Lion Hotel, located in Criccieth, Gwynedd in North Wales, is up for sale at a reduced price of £1,800,000 marketed by business property adviser Christie & Co.

The Lion Hotel is set in an 18th century building which has been refurbished to offer 34 bedrooms and six self-catering apartments.

Amenities include a reception area and lounge, a dining area which also functions as a conference and event space, and a 60-seat bar with an additional snug area. At the back of the hotel is a beer garden and patio.

For the last 45 years, The Lion Hotel has been owned by the Burnett family. Sandra Burnett said: “The area is crying out for mainstream operators who are missing a great opportunity. The hotel increased business year on year for over 40 years. If I were 30 years younger, I’d not even consider selling. Time has caught up with me, but I look forward to finding a new owner who will continue the business.”

Tom O’Malley, associate director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale, added: “Pre-covid, The Lion Hotel would exceed a net turnover of £1.3 million. It can easily surpass this now with the right operator.”
