Philipburn Hotel up for sale at £1.3m

Philipburn Hotel

UK: The four-star Philipburn Hotel, in the Scottish Borders town of Selkirk, has been brought to market at a guide price of £1.35 million.

The Philipburn Hotel, part of the Best Western Group Signature Collection brand, is being jointly marketed by Graham + Sibbald and Smith & Clough.

Offering 20 bedrooms with additional three apartments for private accommodation, amenities include a bar, restaurant, meeting and event space, and an open air pavilion in the garden along with a seating terrace.

Marie Wells has owned and operated the hotel for 16 years. During this time, the property was removed and extended to include the Linglie Function Suite. Wells will retire from the industry upon completion of the sale.

Alistair Letham, hotel and leisure consultant with Graham + Sibbald, said: “The Philipburn Hotel is a most attractive property with which I have had the pleasure of being associated with for some 30+ years.

“It is great to see how the hotel has developed over those years to this well-known and well-established business in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Its availability gives new owners a wonderful opportunity to take over this profitable business and continue its excellent reputation and growth.”

Graeme Smith, director with Smith & Clough, added: “We are delighted to be working alongside Graham + Sibbald on the sale of this award-winning hotel. Presented to an excellent standard both internally and externally, the Philipburn Hotel is a superb business with very little, if any, CAPEX required. Viewing is strongly advised to fully appreciate what is for sale, coupled with spacious owner’s accommodation, and the opportunity it offers.”
