US: Drift Hotels, a boutique brand under TMC Hospitality, has opened in downtown Santa Barbara.

Drift Santa Barbara has been designed in partnership with architecture firm ANACAPA. The hotel offers 45 bedrooms across four categories: bunk, standard, premium, and the penthouse. Local artwork by Will Adler and Anacapa Ceramics will be on display in the rooms.

Two F&B venues comprise the cafe Dawn and bar Dusk. Dawn will serve local pastries and has partnered with Good Citizen Coffee Company. Dusk will offer a rotating menu of cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks along with a seasonal light bite menu.

Both Dawn and Dusk extend into State Street providing communal tables.

Complimentary activities for guests include yoga, surfing, as well as city bikes by PUBLIC which can be rented out.

“We’re proud to introduce the Drift Hotels brand to our home state of California,” said Philip Bates, co-founder and CEO of Irvine-based TMC Hospitality. “Drift is a unique hotel experience geared toward bringing travellers and the community together, and the Santa Barbara locale will be a harmonious addition to the energetic State Street.”

Drift Hotels launched as the second brand from TMC Hospitality in 2021 with the opening of Drift San José. In addition to the Santa Barbara hotel, upcoming locations include Palm Springs and Nashville.
