Raithwaite Sandsend comes to market at £12m

UK: Knight Frank has been appointed to sell the coastal Raithwaite Sandsend hotel in North Yorkshire off a guide price of £12 million.

The 19th century hotel is being marketed with planning permission to increase the current 73 bedrooms to 87, erect a further 71 cottages, 82 apartments and 37 lodges, as well as approved permission to extend the existing building and add 30 bedrooms, five lodges, three villas and village square.

Amenities at the property include a range of spa facilities, the newly opened Crab Shack, an in-house restaurant and organic kitchen garden.

Henry Jackson, partner in the Knight Frank hotels team, said: “Raithwaite Sandsend is a stunning hotel located in a perfect location for visitors, ideally situated between the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors and the wonderful beaches of the county.

“The approved planning permissions are incredibly exciting with investors offered the potential to add a huge amount of additional accommodation as well as the prospect of creating a locally-focussed village retail scheme within the estate.

“Operating successfully as a highly profitable, carbon neutral business, the opportunity to build from a solid and sustainable base is likely to be an inviting prospect for interested buyers.”

Maritime Capital acquired Raithwaite Sandsend in 2019 and last year, set about renovating the estate.
