Glenskirlie Castle freehold brought to market for £2.8m

Glenskirlie Castle, a family-run castle hotel located in Banknock, Stirlingshire, has placed its freehold going concern on the market to be sold for offers exceeding £2.8m.
The property, which is a 21st-Century castle with 6.2 acres of landscaped gardens, is set in central Scotland between Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and attracts many guests from the surrounding cities.
Since undergoing a refurbishment in 2007, the hotel has established itself as a popular wedding and events venue.
It now offers 15 ensuite bedrooms, including a bridal suite with a private jacuzzi bath and four poster bed. The 94-seat wedding ceremony room also features a “striking” stained glass window, as well as an additional function room that caters for up to 150 people.
The castle also has a lounge bar, a restaurant and a fireside conversation pit on its grounds.
The business has been owned and run by the Macaloney family for 30 years, and due to changing circumstances, they have decided to place the business for sale.
Current owner Colin Macaloney said: “We have been proud to own and operate Glenskirlie for over 30 years and due to retirement have decided to pass the baton to ensure Glenskirlie continues to thrive and provide outstanding service for decades to come.”
