Kimpton San Antonio

White Lodging and its associates are delighted to announce the on-schedule topping out of San Antonio's inaugural Kimpton Hotel. This construction milestone keeps the 10-story edifice on track, with the project having commenced in October of the previous year. Kimpton San Antonio, situated at 423 S Alamo in downtown San Antonio, is slated to open its doors in the final quarter of 2024.

As a member of IHG Hotels & Resorts' luxury and lifestyle portfolio, Kimpton San Antonio marks the beginning of a new era of hospitality venues in the city, promising a truly superior luxury lifestyle hotel experience. Perched on the fringe of the bustling Southtown neighborhood, the hotel elegantly blends an 18th-century historic German-English schoolhouse with sleek, ultra-modern rooms and amenities.

This 347-room establishment incorporates a preserved and modified German-English school from the 1800s, originally constructed by German settlers. The original brick, stone, and wood architecture is meticulously being restored and repurposed.

Kimpton and White Lodging, collaborating with HKS Architects, Harvey Cleary Builders, and Blum Consulting Engineers, are transforming the hotel's structure, supported by the interior design expertise of KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group.

The primary historic building will be transformed into the property's premium steakhouse. The other historic structures are being re-envisioned into eight guest suites and a quaint courtyard cocktail bar, all encompassed by protected outdoor space and century-old trees. A distinctive whiskey bar and rooftop bar complete the Kimpton San Antonio's dining and drinking offerings.

The hotel boasts a prime location, nestled between downtown San Antonio and the Southtown neighborhood, providing easy access to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, River Walk, Alamo Plaza Historic District, King William District, La Villita, Hemisfair, and more.

In addition to 16 luxury guest suites and an extensive range of food and beverage options, the new Kimpton San Antonio will feature a rooftop pool and over 11,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
