Headland Hotel invests £3m into new restaurant

The new restaurant will have a specific focus on local Cornish ingredients taking advantage of head chef Fred Goodrich’s ‘strong relationship’ with local farmers and fisherman

The Headland Hotel has announced the launch of its new £3m restaurant named Restaurant RenMor.

RenMor replaces The Samphire as the hotel’s signature restaurant, and welcomes both guests and non-residents.

The new restaurant offers guests panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean as well as an open plan kitchen.

It will have a specific focus on local Cornish ingredients taking advantage of head chef Fred Goodrich’s “strong relationship” with local farmers and fisherman.

Goodrich said: “The food I like to create is a mix of experiences from where I have worked and which I’ve enjoyed since I was growing up. In RenMor I’m trying to create something which can stand up to the best restaurants in Cornwall, offering fantastic flavours in a calm, light and breezy setting.

“Produce is always the hero and the aim is always enjoyment. We’re delivering exceptional quality and an unpretentious approach.”

Veryan Palmer, director, added: “It has taken an incredible amount of vision, planning and execution to deliver a world class restaurant and it is testament to everyone involved in the renovation that we can now welcome diners for a fantastic new experience.

“The striking interiors are warm and timeless and there is attention to detail wherever you look. It is a restaurant in which luxury is for everyone – dress up or dress down, but most of all, take your time. It’s all part of the journey.”
