Can y Bae Hotel acquired by new owners

The Victorian building, which has prime location on Llandudno's seafront, provides panoramic views over the bay and features 16 en-suite bedrooms

Can-Y-Bae has been acquired by new owners after being sold off an asking price of £620,000.

The Victorian building, which has prime location on Llandudno’s seafront, provides panoramic views over the bay and features 16 en-suite bedrooms, a spacious lounge, residents’ bar and ground floor breakfast room. It also boasts a studio apartment.

Michael Thompson and David Preece, who have managed the Can-Y-Bae for the last 17 years, said they are “leaving the hotel with a sense of pride and accomplishment”.

Thompson said: “It’s been an incredible journey. For 17 years we have had the privilege of hosting countless guests, many from the world of theatre, and have created incredible memories of great times at Can-Y-Bae Hotel. We are pleased to be able to hand over the reins to the new owners and look forward to seeing the hotel continue to thrive in the future.”

Neil Thomson, associate director in the Hotels Agency at Colliers, who managed the sale, added: “The Can-Y-Bae Hotel was swept off the market within weeks, a testament to its status as a beloved North Wales gem. This comes on the heels of Colliers’ recent success with the sale of Swn y Mor Hotel, earlier this year, which highlights how popular the region is within the hospitality market.”
