Chih Ching Ong, executive chairman and director of KOP Limited, said: “We are thrilled to be introducing Montigo Resorts’ warm, welcoming blend of excellence in Asian hospitality to Somerset, where our guests will feel cherished, and pampered for ‘generations to come’.

“Charlton House is an impressive property of distinction, and we are committed to honouring its history, and working with the local community to thoughtfully restore the estate to its full potential.”

Since purchasing the estate in March this year, “considerable” investment and effort to improve the facilities has already been made by the group, using local businesses and materials wherever possible, with even more restorative refurbishments still to come.
