Rosewood London has named Tessa Gorman as its new managing director, bringing her 20 years of hospitality experience from roles at Aman, Bvlgari, and Cheval-Blanc. Gorman has previously served as a general manager at luxury properties in Montenegro and Bali. Victor Clavell, senior vice president of operations, EMEAC, expressed confidence in Gorman’s ability to contribute to Rosewood’s success, and Gorman herself expressed excitement about returning to her home city, London.

Dunkeld House Hotel has become the eighth property in Crerar Hotels’ collection, earning a four-star AA rating and AA Rosette under interim general manager Paul Leitch. The Perthshire hotel underwent an £800k refurbishment, adding three guest rooms and enhancing flagship suites. Future plans include the addition of woodland lodges, spa facility expansion, and restaurant improvements. Chris Wayne-Wills, CEO of Crerar Hotels, highlighted Dunkeld House Hotel’s alignment with the luxury experience expected in their portfolio, expressing eagerness to invest further and develop it as a luxury adventure resort in the Scottish Highlands.

The Langham, London, will debut Mimosa, a French Riviera-inspired restaurant, in early 2024. Mimosa, operated by Moma Group, originated in Paris in 2021 and will now bring its Mediterranean-inspired menus by chef Jean-François Piège to London. The Langham’s managing director, Stefan Soennichsen, anticipates the introduction of the Riviera spirit to the hotel. Benjamin Patou, CEO of Moma Group, expressed excitement about bringing Riviera Cuisine to London in collaboration with The Langham.

RoomRaccoon’s annual report reveals that independent hotels in the UK surpassed their European counterparts in Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) performance for 2023. UK independent hotels experienced a 21% increase in RevPAR, reaching an average of €81 (£69), with the Netherlands following closely with a 17% increase and an average RevPAR of €78 (£66). The report also highlights the highest Average Daily Rate (ADR) in the UK at €150 (£128), rising by 13% and peaking at €181 (£154) during July and August. RoomRaccoon CEO Tymen van Dyl emphasises the importance of data-driven pricing decisions for hotels to stay competitive and maximise revenue.
