The New Forest Collection launches partnership with Rockingham Partners

This partnership between The New Forest Collection and Rockingham is the ‘beginning of a new chapter’ and the owner said he is ‘optimistic’ about the future of the group

The New Forest Collection has officially embarked on a new partnership with hospitality management company Rockingham Partners.

This strategic move brings seasoned industry veterans Mike Lashmar and Simon Maguire on board, which will reportedly “unlock the collection’s full potential and usher in a new era for the partners”.

The privately-owned New Forest Collection has been established over the last 40 years and includes Burley Manor, Moorhill House, Bartley Lodge, Forest Lodge, Beaulieu Inn and The Drift. Until recently, these properties were put up for sale as a collection but withdrawn when new opportunities came to light.

This partnership between The New Forest Collection and Rockingham is the “beginning of a new chapter” and owner, Shammas, and his family are optimistic about the future of the group.

Shammas said: “My family and I are excited about working with Rockingham. This partnership will help us cement our legacy in the New Forest with a collection that we have invested so much in over the years.”

With a commitment to continued investment, the group will be unveiling revitalised interiors across its properties, while reaffirming its dedication to customer service and eco-friendly practices. This will commence with the reopening of Moorhill House, which will showcase the design talents of Emily Tyers, the interior designer behind the 2015 renovation of Burley Manor.

Rockingham Partners specialises in hospitality management, operations and driving commercial success. Created by luxury lifestyle specialists, Simon Maguire and Mike Lashmar, Rockingham brings significant experience, transforming properties into “lifestyle destinations”.

Maguire’s proven track record of transforming properties into successful lifestyle destinations includes senior roles at groups like Firmdale, Hotel Du Vin, Harbour Hotels, and most recently, as managing director for Luxury Family Hotels.

Maguire said: “We see incredible potential to build upon the New Forest Collection’s success, leveraging their existing portfolio, all in stunning National Park surroundings. With exciting plans already in the pipeline, we look forward to enhancing the brand and building the team, while preserving the collection’s unique charm.”

Lashmar’s commercial experience at establishments like Careys Manor, Harbour Hotels, and Luxury Family Hotels will play a role in driving profitable growth for the collection.

Lashmar said: “We’re thrilled to be the driving force behind Mr. Shammas’ vision for the New Forest Collection. We’re not just about building a successful business; we’re about creating a sustainable future for the collection, as an integral part of the local community’s vibrant tapestry.”
