Hydes Brewery’s The Abel Heywood, a pub and boutique hotel in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, has closed for a £200k interior refurbishment after a decade of trading. The renovation includes updates to seating, decor, external signage, and the bar area. Despite the closure, the on-site boutique hotel, known for its high occupancy rate, will remain open during the refurbishment. General manager Alex Allan, who has been with the venue since its acquisition and transformation, expressed pride in its role within the Northern Quarter and anticipation for the makeover.
