The Leisureplex Hotel Group has acquired the Royal Hotel in Weymouth from Coast and Country Collection for an undisclosed sum. With a central location on Weymouth’s Georgian curved bay, the 19th Century Victorian hotel boasts 71 bedrooms, some offering clear sea views, along with a bar and lounge area. This purchase marks the 24th property in the Leisureplex Collection and aligns with the group’s strategy of expanding its destinations across the UK. Emma Russell, managing director of Alfa Leisureplex Group, expressed excitement about fulfilling customer requests for a Leisureplex hotel in Weymouth, emphasising the commitment to quality coach holidays and ongoing investments in refurbishments and fleet expansion.

Archer Hotel Capital has successfully completed the acquisition of Hoxton Shoreditch (210 keys) and Hoxton Holborn (220 keys) in London for £215m from Norlake Hospitality. The hotels, strategically located in central London, will continue to be managed by Ennismore. Dominic Seyrling, managing director of Archer Hotel Capital, expressed delight in acquiring high-quality assets with strong brand recognition in sought-after locations. London remains a key city in Archer’s long-term strategic vision, and the company looks forward to a new operating relationship with Ennismore, a leader in the lifestyle space.

Dalata Hotel Group has agreed to a two-year extension of its deal to operate the Maldron Hotel at Dublin Airport. The extension comes as the existing deal was set to expire this month. The group, known for the Maldron and Clayton brands, anticipates full-year revenues exceeding €600m (£519.4m) for 2023, following a record year of growth. Optimistic about the future, Dalata plans to add four properties to its portfolio in 2024, including its first hotels in Brighton and Liverpool. The expansion will bring an additional 834 rooms to the group’s existing portfolio of 53 three and four-star hotels, totaling 11,412 rooms.

The Emerald Healing Centre, formerly the Nightingale Hotel on the Isle of Wight, has been put up for sale with a guide price of £850,000. Originally built over 150 years ago, the Victorian hotel has undergone recent conversion into a 25-bedroom hotel and healing centre with owners’ accommodation across two floors. The property features a restaurant and dining area with 70 covers, an events and bar space with 50 covers, and an EPC rating of C. The hotel’s unique focus on healing and retreat services adds an interesting dimension to its potential use under new ownership.
