Five-star Grande Dame hotel, The Landmark London in Marylebone, has recently appointed Steven Laine as hotel manager to head up the hotel team and oversee the property’s major refurbishment, including the introduction of new F&B outlets.

Laine has 23 years of experience in the hospitality sector, having worked in globally renowned hotels across the world, including The Ritz London, JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, Madinat Jumeirah Dubai, and Pan Pacific Singapore Hotel.

As well as being the latest senior addition to The Landmark’s growing team, Laine is also working towards a WSET Diploma, and is a member of the Académie du Champagne. He has previously worked at two wineries and is an accredited wine scholar and will play an incremental and forward-facing role in the launch of The Landmark London’s Champagne Bar and the ongoing success of the venture.

Laine is joining The Landmark London from an executive assistant manager role at Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club, where he was responsible for the pre-opening of F&B operations across all dining outlets in the resort, including restaurants, bars and in-room dining.

In his new role, he will lead the front of house and hotel team as well as being responsible for the management and running of the hotel and supporting recruitment and training.

In addition, Laine joins the team at a significant time for the hotel, as it prepares to celebrate its 125th anniversary. His key role will be to engage guests and personnel in this milestone for the hotel, which is already an accredited Leading Hotel of the World.

Regarding his promotion, Laine said: “It’s an honour to join the team at one of London’s most prestigious hotels. There is already a strong team in place and the property has impeccable service, so I look forward to continuing to grow and train the team, maintaining the hotel’s established five-star reputation.

“The planned developments across F&B are exciting and I have no doubt this will attract a wealth of talent to work at The Landmark London – a world leading establishment.”

Fergus Stewart, general manager at The Landmark London, said: “I am delighted Steven has joined the team and I know he will bring his wealth of experience to manage the property, alongside myself, to maintain the standards of our magnificent five-star Grande Dame hotel. We are similar in that we have a wealth of global experience and I look forward to working with Steven and to taking The Landmark London to even greater heights.”
