Uno Hotels acquires two South East sites

The Hickstead Hotel in Bolney, West Sussex, and The Grovefield House Hotel in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, have been sold to Uno Hotels on behalf of undisclosed clients.Uno Hotels will be running the assets through two new companies; Cumberland Assets Ltd and Four Hillside Assets Ltd. “Substantial” offers were invited for the properties, and an undisclosed price was paid for the two hotels together. The Hickstead Hotel, on the edge of the High Weald National Landscape, is set within “beautiful” gardens and grounds extending to seven acres. The hotel features 52 en-suite bedrooms alongside the Oak Tree Bistro which seats 60, and The Grange Bar and Lounge with capacity for 35. There is also “substantial” space for conference and wedding facilities as well as five separate meeting rooms, and the hotel is only 20 minutes from both London Gatwick Airport as well as the centre of Brighton. The Grovefield House Hotel is set in seven acres of grounds in Burnham Beeches, and is a short drive from Royal Windsor with easy access to central London, as well as London Heathrow. Dating back to the Edwardian period, the hotel has 40 en-suite bedrooms, Hamilton’s Restaurant with 80 covers, Paddocks bar and lounge for 20 and meeting and wedding facilities for up to 150 guests, as well as landscaped gardens and parking for around 100. I’m thrilled to be working with the local teams and have ambitions to update and refurbish the hotels to make them destination hotel venues to suit the calibre of guests we’re looking to welcome.” Julian Troup, head of the UK Hotels Agency team at Colliers, who handled the sale, added: “The sale of these hotels was conducted in a highly confidential manner, and yet despite this we still managed to generate competitive interest from a diverse range of buyers, indicative of the quality of these properties and their strategic locations. “We have seen 2024 get off to a strong start in the hotels market and these sales takes us to 17 completed UK hotels sales already this year and we believe we will continue to see serious interest from both domestic and overseas buyers throughout the 2024.”
