Riverbank Jungle Resort Private Limited, a resort development company based out of Chitwan, today announced the signing of a franchise agreement with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts for a new hotel development at Patihani, Chitwan - Nepal under the upper midscale Wyndham Garden brand.

Chitwan District is one of 77 districts of Nepal, and takes up the southwestern corner of Bagmati Province. Bharatpur, largest city of Nepal after Kathmandu, is its administrative centre. Bharatpur is the commercial and service centre of South-Central Nepal and a major destination for higher education, health care and transportation in the region.

Chitwan National Park is the first national park in Nepal and is home to 68 mammal species. The "king of the jungle" is the Bengal tiger. Indian leopards are most prevalent on the peripheries of the park. They co-exist with tigers, but being socially subordinate are not common in prime tiger habitat. Chitwan has the largest population of Indian rhinoceros in Nepal. Chitwan National Park attracted more than 142,000 foreign tourists in the year before the COVID-19 pandemic and is one of the most popular wildlife tourist destination in Nepal.

Wyndham Garden is located in Pathani, which is about 20 Km from Bharatpur airport. The Wyndham Garden Chitwan Patihani is situated on the edge of Rapti River and has great views of the Chitwan National Park on the other side of the river. The main entry to Chitwan National Park is less than 3 km from the resort. Expected to open in 2024, the resort will have a modern design and feature 46 contemporary rooms and a host of amenities, including a lobby lounge, an all-day dining restaurant and bar, health club, spa, outdoor swimming pool, as well as larger banquet hall, meeting rooms and a business center.
