US: Mission Hill Hospitality, a select service and extended stay hotel investor and private equity firm, has announced that its Homewood Suites by Hilton Cathedral City hotel near Palm Springs has received the 2022 Hilton Americas Development Awards for Conversion.

The Hilton Americas Development Awards recognise the achievements of owners, development partners and hotel teams in the Americas across several categories. The annual awards celebrate the resiliency and commitment of Hilton’s owners and team members who “spread the light and warmth of hospitality”.

Each year, the Hilton Development team selects winners in multiple categories based on distinct criteria such as quality of hotels developed and in operation, commitment to quality of projects, impact on local community, and early adoption of newer brands. Best Conversion award winners are chosen based on the nature of conversion, location and impact on community, total size and financial commitment, and creative use of set development standards.

Carmen Almos, senior vice president, strategic operations at Mission Hill Hospitality, said: “We’re honoured to receive this award for Homewood Suites by Hilton Cathedral City. We recognise the positive impact and value of the brand affiliation and are very proud of our partnership with Hilton on this property.”

Built in 2017, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Cathedral City Palm Springs has 197 suites with fully equipped kitchens, pet-friendly rooms, over 1,100 square feet in event space across two meeting rooms, a heated outdoor pool, and a 24-hour fitness centre. The all-suite hotel is 10 minutes away from downtown Cathedral City, 15 minutes from downtown Palm Springs, 10 minutes from Palm Springs Airport, and a two-hour drive to Los Angeles.
