Travelodge to expand headcount by over 400 this summer

Hotel positions include: hotel manager, assistant hotel manager, Bar Café team member, housekeeping team member, night reception team member, hotel supervisor and receptionist

Travelodge, one of the UK’s largest hotel chains which operates 579 hotels across the UK, has revealed it is looking to fill over 400 positions across its UK hotels and at its head office in Thame, Oxfordshire.

To further support its colleagues, Travelodge has said it has added two new levels to its Aspire programme, allowing colleagues to gain a formal qualification by way of an apprenticeship.

It said the four level “comprehensive” programme provides a clear pathway of development and career mapping for hotel and maintenance colleagues to progress from entry level roles through to manager level, showing that Travelodge is a place where you can get in and get on, irrespective of background or educational attainment.

Over 400 jobs are available across Travelodge’s UK hotels, the company’s in-house maintenance team and at the group’s head office in Thame, Oxfordshire – and with full time, part time and flexible hours available.

Travelodge said it is the only UK budget hotel chain to invest in a dedicated team of maintenance experts to support its 579 hotels nationwide across the UK and there are a number of roles available in this department.

These full time positions are field based and each maintenance engineer has their own designated network of hotels to service which includes carrying out a variety of maintenance related tasks.

There are also 14 roles available at Travelodge’s support office in Thame, Oxfordshire. These include roles in health and safety, procurement, IT, HR and customer services.

Katharine Gourley, Travelodge, director of People Operations, said: “There has never been a better time than now to join Travelodge, one of the UK’s biggest hotel brands. Our colleagues are at the heart of our business and we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace with opportunities to learn more and earn more, where everyone can be their true self, and belong.

“We are currently looking to fill over 400 positions across the UK and we are looking for enthusiastic people that have a passion and determination to deliver excellent customer service.”

She added: “In addition to a strong network of hotels across the UK, we offer flexible working hours that can be a win-win solution for parents and students. We offer parents flexible working hours to help them work around the school run, so they can raise their family and have a job that allows them to develop a career when the time is right for them.

“Students can work in a Travelodge whilst studying at University and then transfer to a different hotel when they return home in the holidays. The opportunities at Travelodge are endless and can open a door to a great career in a fast growing global industry.”
