Valor Hospitality plans to open a five-star boutique hotel, Seaton House, in St Andrews in Autumn 2024. Overlooking the Old Course, the hotel will feature 40 luxury bedrooms and three suites, offering sea or garden views. The renaming to Seaton House pays homage to its 1864 heritage. The hotel aims to create 70 jobs, support local producers, and provide a culinary experience by renowned Scottish chef Roy Brett. Euan McGlashan, CEO of Valor Hospitality, emphasises a residential feel with modern conveniences and a distinct sense of place. Ondine St Andrews, led by Roy Brett, will be a highlight, along with an all-day restaurant, bar, and lounge.

Como has appointed Rory Slater as the new managing director for Como Metropolitan London and The Halkin. Slater, with 30 years of luxury hospitality experience, was previously the general manager at Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire. Como The Halkin, opened in 1991, was the inaugural property in the Como Hotels and Resorts portfolio. Ferdinand Wortelboer, COO of Como Hotels and Resorts, anticipates growth and success under Slater’s leadership.

SimpsInns has announced plans to enhance The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride by adding a sea view spa, a resident gym, and 17 guest rooms in 2024. The Ayrshire-based hospitality group will begin a major refurbishment in spring, featuring an indoor sauna, steam room, spa lounge, and an outdoor hydro pool. Positioned as one of the region’s leading hotels since its 2013 opening, The Waterside Hotel offers panoramic views of the Firth of Clyde toward the Isle of Arran. SimpsInns also operates The Gailes Hotel and Spa in Irvine.
