Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week will kick off in the most luxe way possible with Australia’s most expensive cocktail.
The Woodford Reserve Gold Fashioned is a collaborative effort between the brand and two venues: Dean & Nancy on 22 in Sydney and Sky Bar in Melbourne.
But big spenders won’t have long to sample the high-end sipper, which will only be available from 5-14 November.
“Here at Dean & Nancy on 22, we really believe in bringing an experience to every one of our guests, that’s why we agreed on such a unique opportunity to showcase what we do every day and partner on such an exciting collaboration,” says Stefano Filardi, bartender and venue manager at Dean and Nancy.
“We know the price tag is big, but we think every dollar is worth the Woodford Gold Fashioned.”
So what goes into the $15,000 price tag?
The cocktail is made from XO Cognac finished Baccarat Edition, gold-infused hateau d’Yquem reduction and handmade saffron and vanilla bitters, which is served with engraved ice in a hand-cut French crystal Baccarat tumbler.
Buyers will also walk away with a cocktail kit complete with two Baccarat tumblers and a $3,000 bottle of Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition.
More than 200 venues across the country will participate in the week that celebrates one of the world’s most classic and foundational cocktails.
