The location for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards has been announced, with the program heading to Valencia, Spain, in June 2023.

Chefs, restaurateurs and gastronomic icons from across the globe will gather together in the city for the first time to celebrate the top 50 restaurants of the year.

“Following the 20th anniversary of the awards in 2022, we were reminded once again of our aim to celebrate great restaurants and great chefs, but more than that, to unite the global hospitality community and bring people together through food,” says William Drew, director of content for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

“We cannot wait to gather this incredible community in June in Valencia, a city that both loves and values its food culture.”

50 Best has confirmed signature events including #50BestTalks, 50 Best Signature Sessions and a Chefs’ Feats highlighting produce and cooking techniques from the region will all take place in Valencia in addition to the countdown and the awards ceremony.

“It is undeniable that the gastronomy of our community is going through its best moment, as is confirmed by the choice of Valencia to host The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards 2023,” says Ximo Puig, President of the Generalitat Valenciana.

“This land is a benchmark in gastronomy and, day by day, continues to work and innovate to remain at the forefront. We are a region with a first class gastronomy, but we also have the capacity and experience necessary to host events of this calibre.”

Individual awards celebrating culinary talent and their places of work will be announced prior to the awards ceremony, which will be held on a yet-to-be-confirmed date.
