Sydney brewery Wayward has been serving the public at its taproom for more than seven years, but now it’s launched something a little different – a cocktail and beer speakeasy.

The new addition to the Inner West landscape is all about comfort, with the 50-seat space fitted out according to a homey aesthetic – think cozy chairs and leather lounges.

Beer naturally plays a key role on the beverage list, with 10 taps set to pour anything from Wayward’s Everyday Ale to the Raspberry Berliner Weisse as well as beers from Local Drinks Collective partners such as Batch Brewing.

Cocktails cover the Crime of Passion, which sees yuzu, vodka and passionfruit combine and the Tropical Mango seltzer that highlights Aperol and peach liqueur.

Patrons will also be able to purchase liquor from the downstairs bottle shop and enjoy in-venue, with a small corkage fee charged.

Wayward has teamed up with VN Street Foods to take care of the menu, with the venue preparing bun cha and beef vermicelli salad just 100m down the road.

The speakeasy will officially launch to the public on 26 January at 3pm.
