Pub entrepreneur Glenn Piper has continued his venue acquisition spree, adding the Commodore Hotel in McMahons Point to his growing portfolio.

The Commodore was first established 169 years ago, making it one of the cornerstones of the area.

“Standing proudly on the corner of Blues Point Road, the Commodore Hotel is without a doubt one of North Sydney’s greatest pubs – and one with an incredibly rich and colourful history,” says Piper.

“I am honoured to continue the Commodore’s long legacy and excited to have the opportunity to elevate it into something really special that reflects the community today.”

The pub baron will receive the keys to the pub in August, with the venue set to undergo a refurbishment that reflects its location and preserves its roots.

The Commodore is the latest venue to join Piper’s hotel empire, which includes the Harbord Hotel on the Northern Beaches, Hook Island in the Whitsundays, and The Beach Hotel in Merewether.

He also took on the leasehold of Q Station in 2022 which will see the establishment of food and beverage offerings.
