The Eden Hotel Collection promotes three GMs

All three new general managers are set to play a key role in ‘significant’ growth plans at their respective hotels

The Eden Hotel Collection has announced a series of internal appointments and promotions across its general management team.

The boutique hotel group promoted Dean Gunston from senior general manager of The Greenway Hotel and Spa in Cheltenham and Brockencote Hall Hotel in Worcestershire to general manager of Bovey Castle in Dartmoor National Park.

Gunston has worked with Eden for more than 13 years, starting his time at the company as general manager at The Kings Hotel in 2009, before moving to Brockencote Hall Hotel in 2011, and latterly The Greenway Hotel and Spa, a post he has held for almost six years.

Craig Routledge will succeed Gunston at Greenway as he moves from Brockencote to start in his new post. He has spent eight years with Eden with Greenway set to become the third hotel under his management, having previously been general manager at The Kings Hotel.

Meanwhile, Jack Hartshorne has been promoted from his role as deputy general manager at The Arden Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon to “lead a new chapter” at Brockencote. Prior to his role at The Arden Hotel, Hartshorne was previously house manager at The Kings Hotel.

All three new general managers are set to play a key role in “significant” growth plans at their respective hotels, as Eden continues to invest in its portfolio with a number of refurbishment projects either planned or already underway.

Mark Chambers, group managing director, said: “These appointments mark an exciting period for all of the hotels. Between the three of them, Dean, Craig and Jack have worked at no less than 10 hotels within Eden over more than 30 years, bringing with them a tremendous amount of experience and enthusiasm to their new roles.

“We know we have some exceptional talent within our ranks and as a company we truly believe in giving people pathways for career development, so I am delighted to see all three step up to their new positions.”
