The World’s 50 Best Bars will be held in Singapore, marking the first time the awards ceremony will be hosted outside Europe.

Global bartenders will come together on 17 October at the Pasir Panjang power station to find out which establishment will take out the top position, determined by votes cast by more than 650 industry figures.

“We are thrilled to bring The World’s 50 Best Bars community to Singapore, our first foray outside Europe and an opportunity to celebrate a magnificent year for bars and bartenders in one of the world’s finest cocktail cities,” says Mark Sansom, content director for The World’s 50 Best Bars.

“We look forward to honouring the accomplishments of those who breathe life into the bar scene and to inspire cocktail lovers to use our list and discover the greatest bars in the world.”

The festivities will extend beyond the ceremony, with an events program set to cover the Bartender’s Feast as well as a selection of 50 Best Signature Sessions, which will see global talent craft cocktails at bars across the city for the public to enjoy.

But before the ceremony takes place, the Art of Hospitality award, Bartenders’ Bartender award and the extended 51-100 list will be revealed.

Last year was a historic milestone for the program, which named Barcelona’s Paradiso as the number one bar in the world, marking the first time a venue outside of London or New York was given the prestigious honour.
