Master mixologist George Bekarian and executive chef Pier Davide Maiuri have teamed up to launch the luxe speakeasy.

Maiuri comes from time working across Rome, Tokyo, Chicago, and Bangkok to serve up a menu taking influence from various world cuisines and flavours.

Some of the highlights across the offering include a Moroccan-style swordfish, Peruvian-inspired kingfish ceviche, eggplant bao, and Thai green lamb curry.

Bekarian has also crafted a signature cocktail offering alongside a range of classics.

On the signature offering guests can tipples such as a balsamic negroni, the Rosy with hibiscus and cranberry, and the Truffle Maker featuring guava, honey, and infused truffle oil.

Alongside cocktails, guests can opt for a range of wines hailing from here in Australia, as well as New Zealand, Italy, and France.

Cardea’s fit-out is draped with luxe, vintage furnishings including red velvet booths, chandeliers, and moody ambience.

The venue’s name comes from the Roman Goddess Cardea, who was known to guard doorways to evil spirits.

Cardea is open Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm until late and is located at Shop 2, 300 Barangaroo Avenue, Barangaroo.
