And so this particular trip to Hong Kong came to an end. The final stop was at The Regent. Yes, it used to be Intercontinental, but before that it was The Regent. It opened as The Regent in 1977, but from 2001 to 2023 it was Intercon. Now it’s back in updated glory, and it was marvellous to see it, not only through the eyes of a long-standing aficionado, but also the effect it had on first-time visitors.
