Public Hospitality and Grossi Group are set to launch Clifton Hotel this month in Melbourne’s Kew.

It’s the first Victorian venue for Public Hospitality, who are behind some of Sydney’s much loved venues including Oxford House, El Primo Sanchez, and The Lady Hampshire.

The two groups are set to transform the historic, 1868-built Clifton Hotel to a multi-venue establishment which will be able to seat over 250 guests.

Clifton Hotel is set to host five key spaces including apertivo bar and restaurant Puttanesca which will be spearheaded by Guy Grossi.

“Public’s first asset in Melbourne needed to be in Kew, and we partnered with The Grossi Group because Guy and the team share the same family values,” says Public Chairman Jon Adgemis.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming them into Clifton Hotel and Puttanesca in August after months of planning and restoration. We are certain the venue will be unrivalled in the area as we give it back to Kew.”

Puttanesca’s offering is set to host a vibrant Italian energy with wood-fired pizzas, antipasti, pasta, and dishes influenced by Grossi’s heritage.

“Our philosophy when creating this menu was to incorporate familiar favourites you would find at the centre of an Italian family dinner table, taking quality, wholesome ingredients and treating them with respect,” says Grossi.

“It’s very exciting, and we are thrilled to be working with Jon and the entire team at PUBLIC.”

Clifton Hotel is scheduled to open in August and is located at 99 High Street, Kew.
