Queensway Group appoints new development director

Andrew O’ Brien will be in charge of the relaunch of Point A HotelsKing’s Cross site as well as overseeing the Canary Wharf and Dublin properties among other responsibilities

Queensway Group, a developer and management platform for hospitality brands, has recently appointed Andrew O’ Brien as development director for Point A Hotels as well as the Sloane Club and Sloane Place.

O’ Brien brings over 30 years’ property and construction experience to the role. He started his career in quantity surveying and project management consultancy before pivoting to hotel development for the likes of De Vere Group and VUR Village Hotels & Leisure.

He joins Point A Hotels at a time of rapid expansion, with the hotel group aiming to grow the size of its estate by 100% in the medium term. O’ Brien will be responsible for the relaunch of Point A’s King’s Cross site as well as overseeing the extension of the Canary Wharf property and in Dublin and adding two new floors to the existing hotel on Parnell Street and construction of a new 95-room hotel at The Liberties.

O’ Brien’s approach will ensure that the guest experience is optimised, whilst remaining aware of cost and environmental impacts.
