Smoke at Barangaroo House have launched their latest cocktail experience Memory Vol 1. which features a line-up of nostalgia-inspired tipples.

The eight cocktails take inspiration from childhood memories including eating oranges during half-time breaks in sport, chicken salt on fish and chips by the beach, corner shop milkshakes, and ice cream trucks.

Smoke Bar Manager Jai Lyons and his team crafted the cocktails each inspired by a team member’s nostalgic memory.

“Memory is all about a fun and playful way to reminisce about things that are universally Australian and make every sip a trip down memory lane,” says Lyons.

“As a team, we wanted to really push our creativity – all have an element of theatre when served and we’re making all syrups, vinegars, purees, infused spirits and wines, and liqueurs in-house using techniques including sous-vide, clarification, switching, force carbonation, and cold infusion.”

The Chicken Salt Martini is one of the creations, which combines Four Pillar’s Olive Leaf Gin, house made chicken salt sherry, rice syrup, and a deep-fried potato twill.

Another feature is the Hawaiian or Margarita cocktail which showcases the venue’s house made bacon-infused tequila with caramelised pineapple, Cointreau, roasted-tomato syrup, and lime.

It’s also served with a dehydrated bacon rim and shot of Coca Cola on the side to take guests back to Friday night pizza and soft drink dinners.

The other cocktails on offer include the Half Time Orange, Livin’ is Easy, Salt Kissed Sun, Save the Day, Fruit Cup, and Pick Me.

Memory Vol 1 is now available at Smoke at Barangaroo House.
