The team from South Melbourne’s Half Acre is behind the all-day eatery Cityfields which is the latest addition to the growing leisure and dining precinct.

Cityfields’ ground floor hosts public bar, restaurant, two alfresco dining spaces and private dining and event space The Long Room.

Upstairs is set to open in May, but will host the terrace dining Room, bar, rooftop garden and private dining room boasting city skyline views.

Open from midday for lunch and dinner, the Cityfields menu is inspired by European bistros with local produce in the spotlight across the dishes.

Expect small share plates like olive gildas with guindilla pepper and anchovy, alongside raw kingfish crudo with native lime dressing.

There’s also hand-made pastas, alongside brasserie classics like steak and frites, plus wood-roasted chicken, grilled trout and an American-style cheeseburger.

For the sweet tooth at your table, there’s a roving dessert cart topped with daily cake and tart specials or a bunch of a la carte options.

For drinks, Cityfields has crafted a range of signature cocktails along with local wines, beers and spirits.

“Cityfields is a concept that we’ve had in mind for some time now, and it was important for us to find the right space to give the idea the home it deserved,” says Cityfields Co-owner Adam Wright-Smith.

“With 12-metre high ceilings, views of Melbourne’s city skyline, a rooftop garden and a grand staircase, we instantly felt that this was the right place to bring Cityfields to life.”

Cityfields collaborated with designers Pasquale Cook and Studio Manifold for the build, which features a European theme with vintage Murano chandeliers, terrazzo table tops and timber double doors for the grand entrance.

Cityfields is open everyday from 12pm and is located at Chadstone Shopping Centre, 1341 Dandeong Road, Victoria.
