Set on Windsor’s Chapel Street in Melbourne, the day-to-night Italo-dining restaurant and basement bar is scheduled to open this spring.
It’s the group’s largest venue so far, with a 100-seat, ground-floor dining room and 60-people basement bar downstairs.
“We have been part of the fabric of Windsor for over a decade, we know the area inside out,” says Commune Group Creative Director Simon Blacher.
“When the opportunity arose to create a new offering in a freshly minted space, we couldn’t resist.”
Studio Amaro will be Commune Group’s interpretation of “Italian dining done in a very Melbourne way” according to Blacher and will be a communal and casual affair.
Italian-born Daniel Migliaccio will lead the Studio Amaro team as head chef, and will draw upon his heritage for the lunch and dinner menu.
“I love the simplicity and produce-driven focus of Italian food, flavours which are a part of the world I have grown up in,” says Migliaccio.
“I am excited to share this love with Studio Amaro’s patrons.”
The venue’s basement bar is set to host resident DJs with genres spanning from disco to Euro throwbacks.
Commune Group is working with Interior Designer Wendy Bergman of Bergman & Co for the venue, which will boast a warming, retro palette to spark a nostalgic mood.
Studio Amaro is set to open for lunch and dinner this Spring, and is located at 168 Chapel Street, Windsor.
