Milpa Collective are set to open the doors to their latest venue tomorrow with the launch of Bar Lucia in Sydney’s east.

The Spanish tapas and wine bar is inspired by the streets of Spain, with lush furniture, art and candelabras to set the mood.

International chef Alberto Palacios will be leading the kitchen team, serving up tapas dishes inspired by flavours of Spain with local produce.

Expect ox tongue with salsa pintxo and salsa verde, jamon serrano croqueta and Catalan-style cannelloni.

Drinks wise, Head Sommelier Kasia Sobiesiak has crafted a wine list celebrating local NSW wines, with a focus on female winemakers.

Head Bartender Luna Ercoli will also be mixing up her own creative cocktails, including the Lucia’s Cheesecake – Luna’s liquid version of her favourite dessert with vodka and homemade jam.

There will also be the ‘Dos de Picas’ (two of spades) spritz, which when ordered will see guests attempt to pull a two of spades from a deck of cards. If successful, they’ll get a taste of Luna’s favourite sherry.

“We are so excited for Bar Lucia to become a part of the Potts Point community. It has been many months of discussion and planning,” says Milpa Collective and Vina Collective Co-Founders, Pablo Galindo and Liber Osorio.

“It will be the next ‘pop in for a glass of wine’ hotspot, the perfect date location, dinner with friends, long ladies’ lunch or ‘settle in the for the evening’ cosy wine bar.”

The Spanish wine and tapas bar will sit under the hospitality group’s new sister brand Vina Collective.

Bar Lucia opens on Friday 3 February, and is located at 5 Kellett Street, Potts Point.
