North Adelaide’s O’Connell Street has welcomed a new culinary addition with the opening of modern Australian restaurant Odé.

Odé is the work of former Jolley’s Boathouse Head Chef and Orana alumni Simon Ming and international, award-winning Sommelier Bhatia Dheeraj.

The pair describe Odé’s culinary offering as their take on modern Australian, sending a nod to the country’s global influences.

“Odé is a place where the elegance of fine dining meets the casual and fun spirit of a bistro…we’ve created a welcoming space where guests can enjoy a sophisticated meal without the pretentiousness of haute cuisine,” says Ming.

“Our menu is a testament to the cultural melting pot that defines our nation, celebrating the diversity of modern Australia, where each dish and ingredient tells a story.”

Odé’s menu champions local producers and native Australian ingredients including bush tomato, quandong, and eucalyptus which is used for a French beurre blanc sauce.

Guests can expect dishes such as a torched Hiramasa kingfish with celtuce, tomato consume, and apple granita; a crab udon with cherry tomato basil and Sichuan crispy chilli oil; and eucalyptus beurre blanc with beef tartare ‘nduja with quandong, pearl onion, and chips.

Dheeraj’s wine list continues the global focus of the venue with drops from Australia and across the world including Champagne and Old World regions.

Odé also serves premium international wines at retail prices, to invite guests to elevate their experience at an approachable price point.

Cocktail-wise, guests can expect a range of riffs on the classics including a Bloody Maria, Bulvardier, and Aldinga Spritz.

Odé is now open at Shop 7, 147 O’Connell Street, North Adelaide.
