Spain / Italy: Hotel owner, operator and investor , Minor Hotels, has announced the debut of its Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand in Italy, with the addition of a property in Portopiccolo, near Trieste in northern Italy. The five-star, 58-key Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Resort will open later this month. Located in the Duino Cliffs Nature Reserve on the Gulf of Trieste, the property is within 20 minutes’ drive of Trieste Airport and features 58 guest rooms and 73 branded apartments.

Italy: Hyatt has entered into a franchise agreement with Botteghe Oscure s.r.l., a company affiliated with AG Group s.r.l. , to open the first Thompson property in Italy with a site in Rome. Expected to open by mid-2024, Thompson Rome will mark the brad’s second property in Europe joining Thompson Madrid. A third hotel in Vienna is slated to join the portfolio in 2025.

UK: The four-star Lion Hotel , located in Criccieth, Gwynedd in North Wales, is up for sale at a reduced price of £1,800,000 marketed by business property adviser Christie & Co. US: Independent hotel operator and developer Uncommon Hospitality is set to open the Longfellow Hotel in Maine this September and has named Matt Plourde as general manager. Plourde will lead the hotel’s opening and will oversee the day-to-day operations, guest services, and community outreach initiatives. Prior to joining The Longfellow, Plourde held a senior role with Starbucks and was responsible for the company’s New England business units.

US: Real estate development, brand and design firm LEFT LANE will open the Hotel Bardo Savannah in February 2024, a Leading Hotels of the World property. Hotel Bardo Savannah is housed in the former Mansion on Forsyth Park, which LEFT LANE acquired for $52.5 million last year. LEFT LANE have transformed the property into an urban resort and when it officially opens, will become the flagship hotel for the Bardo brand.

UK: Irish hotel operator Dalata Hotel Group has acquired the long leasehold interest of the Apex Hotel London Wall from Apex Hotels Limited for £53.4 million. 107 years remain on the lease and the transaction is expected to complete in early July 2023. Apex Hotel London Wall offers 89 bedrooms and suites, a gym, ground floor lobby and a restaurant and bar.
