Whitbread, the owner of Premier Inn, has acquired a consented hotel development site in Manchester’s Northern Quarter from Premcor. The site, located on Rochdale Road, is planned for a 229-bedroom hotel over ten storeys. This acquisition aligns with Whitbread’s strategy to reconfigure its hotel network in Manchester. GMI Construction Group is anticipated to build the hotel, with construction set to begin in summer 2024. The hotel will feature a mix of standard and enhanced rooms, along with integrated dining and check-in facilities. This move reflects Whitbread’s commitment to expanding its presence in key locations to better serve its guests.

River View Luxury Lodges is investing £2.5m to develop an upscale holiday resort along the banks of the Clyde in Renfrewshire.
