The annual bartending competition is back with entries open now until September 30th.

This year’s Patrón Perfectionists program is championing the paloma cocktail and invites entrants to create their own take on the drink.

Entrants are asked to take inspiration from their favourite global city and showcase Patrón Reposado, soda water, a creative flavoured cordial, and grapefruit in some form.

Shortlisted entries will then be invited to make their chosen creation in-person with Australia’s Patrón Brand Ambassador, Alex Godfrey.

The ten best entries will then be put forward to compete in the national final.

To assist entrants, the brand’s online educational hub Academia Patrón has been expanded this year to include access to mentoring sessions with Re-‘s Matt Whiley.

“There’s never been a more exciting time for tequila in the global bar industry, so we have been supercharging our program to respond to the needs and aspirations of a thriving and passionate bar community,” says Global Director of On-Trade Excellence at Patrón Tequila and leader of the program Lauren Mote.

“With an engaging platform that encompasses applied learning on our liquid and category, recipe development, techniques and rituals, and Mexican culture, we encourage participants to learn and think outside the box.”

Along with the digital hub, Godfrey and and reigning Australian champion Alex Boon will be hosting in-person masterclasses across Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Geelong this month.

There is also a virtual session available for Thursday 17 August at 2.30pm with RSVP essential to agodfrey@spiritsspecialist.com.au

Entries for the Patrón Perfectionists 2023 competition must be submitted by 30 September via the entry portal: academiapatron.com/patronperfectionists
