Lionhearth reveals pipeline of new openings in 2023

The four extensively refurbished two bedroom cottages will feature a fully functional kitchen and be served by the neighbouring Lionheart pubs

Cotswold pub group Lionhearth, the new group behind The Chequers in Churchill and The Swan in Ascott-under-Wychwood, has announced a pipeline of new openings for 2023.

The ambitious plans see the group double its capacity for dining and rooms over the next 12 months with the launch of a handful of rooms, two new pubs, and self-catering cottages in the region.

The first in the pipeline is The Chapel, which will open this summer. The new property will see three bedrooms added to the inventory at The Swan inn Ascott-under-Wychwood.

In keeping with the group’s signature style, the new spaces will combine modern interiors with “classic” honey coloured Cotswold architecture.

All guests will have full access to The Swan and its large “sundrenched” garden terrace.

The Black Horse in Salford will reopen in late summer 2023.

Lionhearth stated that it has invested heavily in returning this community asset to its “former glory”.
The Black Horse will offer locals and visitors a classic pub atmosphere and rustic dining – with a new one-bedroom cottage for overnight stays.

The group will be taking bookings for their newly renovated cottages in a prominent position in Kingham towards the end of the year.

The four extensively refurbished two bedroom cottages will feature a fully functional kitchen and be served by the neighbouring Lionheart pubs.

Lastly, Grade II Listed The Cock Inn in Combe will open in December 2023, bringing a new dining concept.
Scott Macdonald, managing director of Lionhearth, said: “Our pubs are the heart of our communities. We are committed to securing these precious spaces over the long term and will continue to invest in the region to create warm, welcoming venues where friends, families and loved ones can enjoy exceptional food, superb wines and regional beers for many years to come. ”
