Hi Sylvia

The much-loved Italian espresso bar and bistro is set to reopen as Officina Gastronomica Italiana this Spring in Melbourne’s Prahan.

The site is set to undergo complete renovations and also double in size to host a central bar, coffee, and counter alongside a dining space to take patrons from day to night.

Claudio Casoni opened the original Officine Zero in 2014 which has been known for its authentic Italian offering.

“When I originally opened Officine Zero in 2014, I always planned for it to be more than an espresso bar,” says Casoni.

“I wanted to share my passion for Italian artisans, commitment to sustainable producers and good old-fashioned hospitality with the local community. Now, with the opportunity to expand our footprint and relaunch Officina Gastronimica Italiana, I have my chance.”

Officina Gastronomica Italiana will add a dinner menu to the offering, which will focus on hand-made pasta by Head Chef Gabriele Coniglio who comes from time working at Michelin-starred venues in Piemonte.

Wines will also take an Italian focus with a range of boutique and artisan producers set to star.

Officina Gastronomica Italiana will open this Spring at 532/534 Malvern Road, Prahan.
